A Personal Email - Passing The Torch after 14 Years

14 years.

That's how long I've been at the helm of LeadSimple.

It's been one hell of a ride.

Today I am passing the torch to LeadSimple's next CEO Chris Winn.

Why?

Well, you should just listen to the podcast that I recorded with my good friend Ray Hespen where he interviews me on the big change.

That said, here's the TLDR.

I’ve taken the company as far as I can take it, and in order for us to get to the next level of growth and success that I know is possible - the company needs a new leader with a fresh set of legs, a big vision and a hell bent obsession achieve it.

I’ve always been committed to not conflating the company’s trajectory and needs with my own as an individual and entrepreneur.

Meaning that the company is bigger than me and has its own life and destiny.

This was evident during the 2 ½ year stretch where I stepped out to start ProfitCoach and RentScale earlier in the decade. Those were good years of rebuilding the technical foundations of LeadSimple that enabled the strong run we had starting in 2020.

Similar to then, the company is at an inflection point that requires vision and conviction in the face of a rapidly changing technology landscape and the erosion of traditional competitive moats.

This is not the time to play it safe.

I will have more to say about Chris Winn and the company's future in an upcoming long form interview with him.

For today - I simply want to say THANK YOU to the people that helped build and support the company over the years. Without you none of this would have been possible.
